Always evaluate the information you are using. The PAARC criteria help you remember what to look for.

How to research

How to research for this position paper assignment. 

1. Read the assignment carefully. 

2. Put down everything you know about your topic. This can help you find a place to start and keywords to look for. 

3. Carefully read the links for your topic on this libguide and take notes. 

4. Keep track of where your notes are coming from and cite them with MyBib. 

5. Go back to your mind map or writing from step 2, and add to it. Do you have gaps? If so, go to step 6. If not, stop researching and start writing. 

6. Use the keywords you have found in your research to search for one or two more sources. You will need need any more than that. 

7. Write your paper and include your bibliography.
