This group is the Soybean and corn farmers of the Amazon. They are two of the biggest drivers of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. However, there are efforts to prevent deforestation in the region. In recent years, the has been a ban on the sale of crops grown on land that has been deforested after 2008. Also, farmers are starting to use land that was formerly used for cattle ranching. Students in this group will research how farmers justify their use of this land and are trying to prevent deforestation in the future.
