This group studies climate change. They will argue that the greenhouse effect is causing the earth’s temperature to rise due to human beings emitting CO2 and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The Amazon serves as the world’s largest carbon sink to absorb CO2 naturally, so removing it takes away one of humanity’s greatest defenses to global warming. They will research how the greenhouse effect works, the role of the Amazon in affecting the earth’s climate, and why climate change has dire consequences for life on earth and must be reversed.
